Lately I haven’t had much time for casual reading, but I came across the blog of a lady named Daina Fischer who is an opera singer currently located in Chicago. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from DePaul’s School of Music. As someone who is constantly surrounded by academic/scientific writing, I thoroughly enjoy reading her “Let’s Talk About It” series, where she discusses current events, jobs, traveling, stress, fear, and dreams. I believe that writing is very personal, so I admire the courage Fischer has to share her experiences online with thousands of people she has never met. On her blog, she says, “I hope to inspire confidence and courage in young women with guidance through fashion, music, literature and my personal achievements and struggles.”
